Found in the town of Javoles in Southern France, this Gallo-Roman cook ware has survived the test of time. Reconstructed from its grave Archeologists discoved a ceramic vessel used for daily cooking. The three legs suport the wieght of the body as it is suspended above a small fire. This









vessel made from a near by clay sorce is a universal example of simle Gallo-Roman cookware. The brownish bottom sugests that fire was often used. Fire leaves brown residue in the form of excess carbon. The vessel ws probibly created around 200 AD.
