 The Reminiscer is designed to be the follow up of the Senior Companion (SC). After SC has tagged your images through Natural Language Understanding and Dialogue Manager, how do you revisit those stories associated with those photographs. More importantly, how does the user navigate through countless tagged photographs? The Reminiscer answers those questions by imbedding the tags into the stories the SC has captured. We were not aiming to search for photos with this application, we were aiming to encourage task-less interactions through the serendipitous nature of recalling events through story telling. 
The Reminiscer is a great example of working from pencil sketch to paper prototype to agile prototype. We worked at flushing all our ideas out on various sketch books, moved to making paper semantic web prototypes to experiment with our application, then made an agile application using Flex and Subversion library Degrafa in Action Scripting 3. 
The Reminiscer was on Exhibition at the European Future Technologies Conference "Beyond Science Fiction" in the Czech Republic Prague of April 2009. |
